Tom Brady unlikely to play in first preseason game vs. Packers
Tom Brady is unlikely to play in the New England Patriots’ preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers, according to NFL Network’s Stacey Dales. Dales referenced Bill Belichick’s rule that players must practice in order to play, and Tom Brady missed Wednesday’s practice while attending his appeal hearing in New York. Additionally, Brady hasn’t played a snap in first game of preseason in two of the last four seasons. His absence from the field likely isn’t a punishment.
Jimmy Garoppolo will likely be the Patriots’ preseason Week 1 starter at quarterback for the second straight year.
