Morning Sports Update: Peyton Manning calls HGH allegations ‘pure junk’

Peyton Manning meets the Super Bowl media, Tom Brady may or may not attend Super Bowl 50 festivities, and BC and BU advance to the Beanpot final.

Peyton Manning on HGH allegations: ‘It’s been nothing but pure junk and I welcome that investigation’: “I can tell you what they are going to find — a big fat nothing. It’s been completely fabricated as far as the allegations, what they suggested that I did. It’s been nothing but pure junk and I welcome that investigation. I think that will start right after the season.’’ (WEEI.com)

Should Patriots QB Tom Brady attend Super Bowl 50 ceremonies?: Of course since he received the initial invitation last spring, Brady has been embroiled in major battle with the NFL over the Deflategate scandal. Like Trump’s feud with Kelly, Brady has his own clear issues with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the severe, unprecedented punishment he tried to hand down to Brady and the Patriots that included a four-game suspension. That suspension was shot down in a court appeal, and the issue remains in the courts today. Trump seems to be holding strong in his feud. Will his buddy Brady do the same? (Patriots.com)

Beanpot 2016: BU, BC to face off in final for 22nd time: Robbie Baillargeon and Charlie McAvoy scored first-period goals and defending Beanpot champion Boston University beat Northeastern 3-1 Monday night to set up a tournament championship against Boston College. (Boston.com)

Calvin Johnson would be a great catch for Patriots, but it seems as likely as a successful Hail Mary: But here we are, a full year after the Patriots won Super Bowl XLIX in as fulfilling a way as possible and little more than a week after the retribution-fueled quest for a repeat thudded to an end with a 20-18 loss to those Broncos, and we’re already on to one of our annual favorite offseason obsessions around here: Searching for a deep threat for Tom Brady.
