After failing to secure a deal in the early period of NFL free agency, running back Adrian Peterson will reportedly continue his tour of possible destinations for next season in an intriguing location: New England.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the 32-year-old running back will start his free agent visits with the Patriots on Monday:

Peterson, who’s tallied all 11,747 yards rushing in his career with the Vikings, found himself on the open market in the offseason after Minnesota declined to pick up his option in late February. And unlike other free agents who were quickly signed in a frenzy of lucrative contracts, Peterson remained on the market.
The Patriots have yet to re-sign top 2016 running back LeGarrette Blount and are reportedly preparing for him to sign elsewhere.
