Amid speculation that a rift exists between Bill Belichick and Tom Brady’s personal trainer and business partner, Alex Guerrero, Patriots president Jonathan Kraft says he’s skeptical.
“I haven’t heard anything from either the coaching staff or Alex about either one being upset with each other,” Kraft said in his weekly pre-game radio interview on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
“I’ve seen Alex in the building, and he always seems like he’s in a really good mood. Alex is a great guy, and neither one has said anything to me.”

The reported clash of personalities within the Patriots’ inner circle appeared in an ESPN article in October about Brady’s longevity. Citing a “friend of Belichick’s,” the article carried a quote claiming that “a collision is coming” between the Patriots’ coach and Guerrero.
More recently, ESPN reporter Adam Schefter offered his take in a radio interview on WEEI’s Kirk & Callahan.
“I’ve heard whispers about that sort of thing, as well,” Schefter said in regards to the rumors of a rift. “There’s some sort of issue. I truly do not know the extent of it. I don’t know how long it has been brewing or the history of it. Clearly, there’s something there, but I don’t know what to make of it, to be honest with you.”
Schefter also maintained that the relationship between Brady and Belichick remains strong.
“I think it is a good relationship,” Schefter explained. “I don’t think that is an issue. Listen, there have been some dynamics this year — the Alex Guerrero one, the Jimmy Garoppolo one. Every relationship goes through different phases, ons and offs and ups and downs. Honestly, I don’t know where they are at today. I just know that the Guerrero thing has been an issue at some point this season. It has come up. It is not the first time it has been brought to my attention. There we are.”
