At age 40, Tom Brady is still living up to his beer-chugging reputation.
The Patriots quarterback put his highly touted skills to the test in a contest with Stephen Colbert during an episode of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert airing Monday night.
What was initially proposed as a casual activity for the two undoubtedly escalated into a competition because, well, Brady’s Brady. Despite saying just moments earlier he “rarely” drinks beer — alcohol should be consumed in “minimal amounts,” according to the TB12 method — the five-time Super Bowl champion downed his brew in impressive fashion.

It’s not the first time Brady has shown off his beer-chugging abilities. Backup passer Brian Hoyer told ESPN’s Mike Reiss the notoriously healthy eater won a team beer-chugging contest on a road trip in Buffalo several seasons ago.
“You have linemen, Julian Edelman, they all think they are going to win,” Hoyer told Reiss. “Then someone says, ‘I heard Tom is really great at chugging a beer.’ We don’t usually get to experience him like this, but we finally coax him into doing it. He does it, and let me tell you, you couldn’t have poured out the beer faster into a glass. It was unbelievable. And he slams the mug on the table and puts both fists in the air. He walks away with a look on his face that said, ‘You really thought you were going to beat me on this?'”
