At first, longtime WCVB meteorologist Harvey Leonard said he was “honored” to have been included in wide receiver Julian Edelman’s hype video for Sunday’s AFC divisional-round game between the Patriots and Los Angeles Chargers.
And after watching the clinic Edelman put on in the first half against the Chargers?
Leonard says he is “super honored.”
Edelman was one of the Patriots’ top receivers Sunday, hauling in nine catches on 13 targets for a team-high 151 yards. He averaged 16.8 yards per catch.
“Pound for pound, Jules in the toughest player in the NFL,” Leonard tweeted.

Prior to kickoff against the Chargers, Edelman shared a fake “extreme cold weather” warning that opened with an old forecast from Leonard. The 40-second clip closed with scenes from previous Patriots games in the snow and highlights from their most recent season.
There was no sign of precipitation Sunday, but the temperature at kickoff was still below freezing at 26 degrees.
