At 5-foot-3, Billerica High senior Nick DeRosa is almost always the smallest wrestler on the mat; but size is no obstacle.

Already a two-time All-American, the 120-pound captain has a motor that could fit a semi-truck, and it never stops running.

“I always want to finish on top in everything that I do,” said DeRosa, who has committed to wrestle at Cleveland State on a Division 1 scholarship.

“I just have that winning mentality that I need to win, I need to be the best I can be.”

That attitude has rubbed off on his teammates.

“Whether it’s a sprint, a run, a takedown, anything, he’s just so competitive, he doesn’t like to lose at anything,” said Billerica coach Bob Belanger, who his entering his 10th season as head coach.
