WORCESTER — When the final whistle blew, the cheers from the St. Peter-Marian sideline were finally released after a decade of frustration. Senior Isaiah Soucy led a punishing ground game, and Dan Henrickson and Seamus Leary combined for a pair of second-half touchdowns as the Guardians (8-3) defeated St. John’s (9-3) for the first time since 2002 with a 19-7 decision at Fitton Field.

St. Peter-Marian had dropped 10 straight to the Pioneers, but the last two meetings were decided by a touchdown. With 19 seniors, the Guardians got to end their careers on a high note.
