Although the BC High hockey team hadn’t lost a game all season, coach John Flaherty knew his team would have its work cut out on the road against No. 11 Reading Monday night, so he emphasized the importance of generating good chances early in the game.
The top-ranked Eagles did just that, outshooting Reading, 42-9, in a 5-0 victory.
“It was a good game,” Flaherty said. “Any time you play up there, it’s a tough environment. We focused on skating and moving the puck. We played the game fast and got good chances early.”
Senior forward Aidan Foley struck first when he snapped a quick shot on net after Adam Foley won the faceoff in the Reading zone. It was the first career goal for Foley.
