Boys’ hockey players of the week

Cal Christofori, Belmont — In a 4-0 loss to Winchester, the freshman goalie made 50 saves.

Nick Edwards, Blue Hills— In a 6-5 win over Diman, Edwards had two goals and two assists. He has 208 career points, joining his brother, Josh, in the 200-point club.

Lloyd Hayes, Central Catholic – Hayes continued his spectacular season for the fourth-ranked Raiders, notching the first of his two goals with 1:54 remaining to guide Central Catholic to a 5-3 win over Springfield Cathedral. The senior leads the Raiders with 21 points.

Carl Marzolini, Nashoba Tech – The goaltender kept his team in contention against Lowell by collecting more than 50 saves, but the Vikings fell, 4-2.

Ryan McDonald, Lynn Classical /English – The senior doubled his goal output on the season with a four-goal effort in the Rams’ 7-4 win over Revere. McDonald currently leads the Rams with 23 points.

Cody McGowan, Wilmington – A pair of goals and two asssits from the senior forward powered the Wildcats to a 6-1 victory over Belmont.

Tyler Poulin, Watertown – A pair of goals from the sophomore forward pushed the Raiders to a 2-1 win over Middlesex Freedom rival Melrose.

Riley Prattson, Springfield Cathedral – Playing right wing on a line that carries a pair of Division I hockey commits, the freshman registered a hat trick in his team’s 5-3 loss at No. 4 Central Catholic. Prattson is now third on the team in points with eight goals and 14 assists.

Brendan Walsh, Marian – In a 9-2 decision over St. Joseph’s Prep, the senior collected five goals.
