Before helping lead a top-seeded team into the NCAA Tournament, Wayne Selden Jr. honed his basketball skills in New England. The 6’5″ junior guard for Kansas was born in Roxbury and solidified his status as one of the nation’s top high school basketball recruits at the Tilton School in New Hampshire.
“Athletically, he makes probably the most spectacular plays of anybody we’ve had,” Tilton coach Marcus O’Neil told The Boston Globe during Selden’s senior season in 2013. “He’s [also] played 1 through 5 this year and there have been games where he’s played every single position.”
