Should the Patriots trade for Jalen Ramsey if all it cost was a first-rounder? Do it. Awesome player who would give them the best defensive backfield in history. – Tom N.
Hold on a second, I’m still weaving through the Giants fans on my Twitter timeline suggesting Eli Manning for Ramsey makes sense for the Jags …

All right, we’re good. Ramsey to the Pats? I suppose anything is possible these days considering I could swear I saw Antonio Brown running some nifty pass routes in a No. 17 jersey Sunday against the team that used to be the Miami Dolphins.
Ramsey, like Brown, is an extremely talented player, one of the best at his position.
It also remains to be seen whether he’s coachable. I’d pay to hear some conversations between him and Jaguars executive VP Tom Coughlin, who doesn’t tolerate much of anything, over the last couple of years. He’s not a detriment on the field, but he sure seems to be one off it.
The Jaguars should have beaten the Patriots in the 2017 AFC Championship Game. They blew it – or the Patriots took it from them, if you prefer – and they have been the biggest dumpster fire in Jacksonville since. And if you know anything about Jacksonville, there are many dumpster fires to choose from.
Even with the risk that he ends up helping a competitor – the Chiefs are the team that really should trade for him – I’d pass, especially for a first-rounder. Ramsey is great, but he’s not as good as he thinks he is.
He believes he’s the best corner in the league. He wouldn’t be the best corner in the Patriots defensive backfield so long as Stephon Gilmore is around.
I’m just not sure he’s a team player. While Belichick can get just about anyone to fall in line, I wonder about Ramsey given his role in the Jags’ collapse. He’s a terrific player, but he’s one of those guys who is more fun to beat than to have on your team. Pass.
What does everyone else think? Do you want the Patriots to trade for Jalen Ramsey? I’ll hear you in the comments.
