Kyrie Irving’s alter ego makes a cameo in Pepsi’s Super Bowl ad

Kyrie Irving’s upcoming movie is set to be released in June, but the Celtics point guard will also be getting a little bit of screen time come Sunday.

Disguised as his alter ego, an elderly man named Uncle Drew, Irving makes a cameo in Pepsi’s 30 second-long commercial for Super Bowl LII. He is shown — gray beard and all — “breaking ankles” against a younger opponent on the basketball court.

A year ago, Pepsi announced the beverage company would be partnering with Irving to produce a movie featuring Uncle Drew, a character they had developed through a multi-part YouTube series. The film, titled Uncle Drew, will document his quest to find fellow septuagenarians to compete with him in a basketball tournament.
