Owning up to it

Here’s Long Island Ducks owner Frank Boulton talking about the Jose Offerman incident from earlier this week. Boulton apologizes for the actions of the Ducks player, who was suspended indefinitely this past week after attacking Bridgeport Bluefish pitcher Matt Beech with his bat, but also stresses that, “Jose Offerman’s actions did not happen unprovoked.”

The Red Sox connections with this story go beyond Offerman, as Beech played in the Red Sox farm system in 2004, when he 1-1 with 8.44 ERA in four games for the PawSox. He was released that August.
