Burning rubber
Not sure if the Pony Express still makes its way to Woodland, Calif. For even in the age of the Internet, it still took four whole days for Dustin Pedroia’s comments about his hometown to hit the streets.
Of course, folks aren’t happy, and some have suggested it will have a negative impact on his parents’ local tire company. They must be psyched about their son’s big mouth right about now.
The Red Sox travel to nearby Oakland next week, where Sacramento Bee writer Bill Bradley suggests Pedroia’s story might change in the belly of the beast. Obviously residents are disappointed.
But not half as disappointed as we are today in the reigning MVP’s latest appearance for Sullivan Tire. When did they decide to go out and get a budget for these things? Hopefully the wooden acting will return down the line.
