Girls’ volleyball players of the week

Susannah Phillips, Wellesley — The outside hitter led her squad with 40 kills, 7 digs, and 5 aces against Norwood and Milton. In only eight games this season, the senior captain has amassed 110 kills and a .335 hitting percentage after missing half the games this season with a bulging disc in her lower back.

Elizabeth Webb, Wellesley – The sophomore aided the Raiders straight set sweeps against Norwood and Milton with a combined 46 assists and 10 digs. She has averaged six assists per set in the past five games.

Sienna Jackson, Newton South – The senior outside hitter recorded a season-high 18 digs for the Lions in a four-set win against Dual County League rival Acton-Boxboro (25-13, 25-14, 22-25, 25-14).


Ashley Medeiros, Stoughton – The senior outside hitter collected 19 service points, 12 digs, and 7 aces in her squad’s win over Milford (25-15, 25-22, 26-24).

Anna Smokovich, Arlington – The senior captain totaled 28 assists, 10 digs, and 5 aces for the Spy Ponders in a victory over Reading (14-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 15-13).

Casey Hopkinson, Reading – The senior outside hitter captained her Rockets on senior night with 13 kills and 30 digs to keep their playoff hopes alive after a four-set win against Winchester (20-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-20).
