Boys’ hockey stars of the week

David Aiken, Saugus — The Sachems needed every one of the senior’s 35 saves Saturday afternoon to upend Newburyport, 4-3, in a matchup of Cape Ann League foes.

Brian Bilafer, Dedham — The sophomore scored the winning goal with 1:21 remaining as the Marauders locked up their fourth win of the season with a 2-1 decision over Bay State Herget foe Natick.

Nick Fantasia, Billerica — The junior had his hand in every Billerica tally Thursday night, racking up two goals, including the winner with 14 seconds remaining, and three assists as the Indians salvaged a 5-5 tie with Westford.

Brian Gallagher, Braintree — The Wamps brought an end to No. 12 Duxbury’s 10-game winning streak Monday night as the senior forward scored a pair of goals. Braintree qualified for the Division 1 South tournament with a 4-2 defeat of the Dragons.


Tim Huggins, Chelmsford — In a battle of Merrimack Valley/Dual County heavyweights, the junior goaltender manned his crease to the tune of 29 saves as the Lions emerged with a 1-1 tie against No. 8 Central Catholic.

Jack Kelly, Arlington — The 24th and 25th goals of the season from the junior forward were more than enough as Arlington took care of Belmont, 5-1.

Matt Lazaro, Canton — After starting the season 1-2-4, the Bulldogs stormed back to clinch the Hockomock Davenport title with a 5-1 victory over Mansfield. Lazaro, a sophomore forward, had two goals in the victory.

Mitch Nekoroski, Masconomet — The Chieftains remain in contention for the Cape Ann crown thanks to the sterling efforts of their senior goaltender, who recorded 36 saves en route to 3-1 win over Amesbury Thursday night.

Cody Pasic, Barnstable — In a pair of wins over ranked opponents Milton and Falmouth, the junior forward added to his team lead in points with four goals, including a hat trick over the Clippers.
