CBS Radio’s 98.5 The Sports Hub finished first overall and across all four day parts in the Boston market during the three-month winter Nielsen Audio Ratings period.
The Sports Hub earned an 11.3 share overall in the men 25-54 demographic from the period of January 1-March 25, a stretch that included the Patriots’ run to victory in Super Bowl XLIX.
WEEI (93.7) finished third overall with a 7.0 share, up significantly from last winter. Classic rock station WROR was second (7.9).
In afternoon drive (2-6 p.m.), the Sports Hub’s Felger and Massarotti show finished first for the 11th straight ratings period with an enormous 15.9 share, including a 17.8 in January. WEEI’s Dale and Holley program was second with an 8.4.
In morning drive (6-10 a.m.), The Sports Hub’s Toucher and Rich program was first with an 11.4 share. WEEI’s Dennis and Callahan program, which also includes Kirk Minihane, was second with a 9.7. Coincidentally, those numbers are identical to each program’s fall shares.
In middays (10 a.m.-2 p.m.), the Sports Hub finished first with an 11.5 share in the day part even as it revamped its program along the way. Marc Bertrand replaced Andy Gresh as Scott Zolak’s co-host in mid-February. WEEI’s Middays With MFB, featuring Lou Merloni, Christian Fauria, and Tim Benz, was fifth (5.4).
In the 6-11 p.m. period, The Sports Hub, which broadcasts the Adam Jones show and Bruins and Celtics broadcasts in that window, was first (9.2). WEEI, which features the Planet Mikey program, tied for sixth (4.7).
It’s the 11th straight three-month period that the Sports Hub has been the top-rated sports station in the market.
In last year’s winter ratings, the Sports Hub was first with a 9.3 share while WEEI was seventh at 4.6.
