When a velvet red curtain twinkles with lighted snowflakes and is drawn back to reveal a stage full of singing revelers, that can only mean one thing — it’s “ChristmasTime” with the Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston.
The nonprofit theater group returns to live performances this holiday season with a 90-minute staged concert version of its beloved “ChristmasTime” celebration. During four performances from Dec. 4-5 and Dec. 11-12, you’ll enjoy a cavalcade of joyous holiday classics sung by your favorite Reagle performers (including soloists Mara Bonde, Fred Van Ness, and Erik Sachs) donning traditional caroler costumes from yesteryear and backed by a full live orchestra. There will also be a hip-hop troupe from Deborah Mason Performing Arts Center dancing their version of the “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,” a ballerina from Deborah Mason Performing Arts Center dancing Dickens’ “Ghost of Christmas Past” from their acclaimed holiday show “What the Dickens,” and the Afro Diamonds of Africano Waltham, a community-based organization serving immigrants and refugees, doing a drum and dance performance before each show. Sing along (but not too loudly) to seasonal favorites including “Oh, Holy Night,” “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “White Christmas,” and “Happy Holiday.”
Performances are at noon on December 4, 5, 11, and 12.
