“RuPaul’s Drag Race” alumni Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova come to the Wang Theatre in Boston this fall on their international tour, “Trixie and Katya Live.” The concert-style show combines live music, comedy, and scripted satire inspired by ‘90s road trip comedies.
The drag queen duo rose to fame after their stint on season 7 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” hosting the popular web series “UNHhhh” and starring in Viceland’s “The Trixie & Katya Show” for one season in 2017.
Trixie Mattel is the stage name of Brian Michael Firkus, a singer, actor, and drag queen who recently released her fourth studio album, “The Blonde and Pink Album.” She launched her cosmetics brand, Trixie Cosmetics, in 2019, and co-authored the New York Times bestselling book “Trixie and Katya’s Guide to Modern Womanhood.” In 2021 she was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy Special for her musical comedy “Trixie Mattel: One Night Only.”
Boston-born Brian Joseph McCook, better known by his drag persona Yekaterina Petrovna Zamolodchikova, or just Katya, is a recording artist, comedian, and drag queen. McCook attended Boston University before transferring to Massachusetts College of Art and Design, studying video and performance art. Katya recently finished a sold-out global theater tour and released her first TV standup special from that tour, “Help Me I’m Dying.”
“Trixie and Katya Live” is the debut production from Obsessed, a new brand from the Five Senses Reeling drag promotion company. Tickets are currently on sale at Ticketmaster.
