On Boylston Street, Abe & Louie’s and Atlantic Fish Company both have ring-side seats and ticketed brunches with passed hors d’ oeuvres, carving stations, fresh seafood, and desserts to enjoy inside the dining room and bar areas, or outside on the patios. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. $150 per person.
Steps away from the action, Newbury Street eatery Sonsie opens at 9:30 a.m., offering a modified menu of specialty brunch items and special marathon snacks, and a marathon blue cocktail, the 26.2 made with vodka, blue curaçao, and house-made lemonade.
Just off the Marathon route, Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton is throwing a post-race party in its gorgeous Trifecta cocktail lounge. Sponsored by Waltham’s Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co., there will be a DJ and Squirrel Brewing beer specials, along with the full Trifecta food menu: beer-battered fish and chips, sliders with cheddar, and hummus with sweet-and-sour eggplant. Trifecta opens at noon; the DJ will spin from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. No ticket required.
Nearby, Kings Back Bay on Dalton Street has a special Marathon Monday viewing party featuring a DJ and a Michelob rep with samples and swag (3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.). Marathon Day menu specials include two pizzas for $26.20 and a marathon week Michelob Ultra bucket special of five beers for $26.20. Watch the race live on the big-big screens and then enjoy unlimited bowling, billiards and arcade games for $26.20. Yes, the pricing references the marathon’s length. All marathon runners receive a Kings/Michelob Ultra gift bag.
Grand Tour on Newbury Street has a special Bibs, Burgers, and Bubbles menu. However anyone, bib-wearing and running or not, can enjoy a selection of burgers avec frites, alongside some nifty French and domestic bubblies, either by the glass, bottle, or magnum, all offered a la carte.
The Fairmont Copley Plaza opens its OAK Long Bar + Kitchen opens at 7 a.m. for breakfast and remains open through midnight. Marathon specials include Sam Adams 26.2 on tap and a short-rib rigatoni pasta special, served all weekend.
