Whether you’re an experienced plant parent or struggle to keep even succulents alive, this Bonsai Bar is for everyone. Attendees can choose their own Dwarf Jade tree, a beginner bonsai species that the organizer promises will remain alive (with a replacement guarantee if not).
“This tree is a succulent — it doesn’t need a ton of water, is super hardy, used to adverse conditions and can grow inside, like a houseplant, which is great for people in Boston who might not have yards,” said Timothy Arsenault, founder of Bonsai Bar.
Pot, prune, and design your tree with borrowed tools and materials while munching on snacks and drinks from the various breweries and cafés serving as host.

With locations across Boston, Cambridge, Waltham, and Worcester, here is the upcoming schedule of bonsai bar events across Massachusetts starting August 3:
Think you’ll need more guidance? There are follow-up video consultations that you can attend after the class, ensuring that you will be equipped with all the knowledge you need to help your bonsai tree not only survive, but thrive.
