For the first time since before the pandemic, Madonna is headed out on tour, including a stop in Boston.

The Queen of Pop will pay a visit to T.D. Garden on Wednesday, August 30, at 8:30 p.m. as part of The Celebration Tour, which will highlight 40+ years of hits from the singer.

In her typical role as provocateur, Madonna announced the tour with a five-minute video that pays homage to her film “Truth or Dare,” assembling celebrities like Judd Apatow, Jack Black, Eric Andre, Diplo, and Amy Schumer for an uncomfortable edition of the popular sleepover game.

Local fans of the singer were disappointed in 2019 when Madonna canceled three shows at the Wang Theatre with only a few days’ notice, citing doctor’s orders. Unlike her previous Madame X tour, which received a mixed critical response and featured almost exclusively new material, Madonna will be playing the hits this time around.

“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” Madonna shared in a press release.

The 35-city tour will kicks off July 15 in Vancouver before, and visits cities like Seattle, Denver, and New York City before arriving in Boston Aug. 30.

General admission tickets to Madonna’s Boston concert go on sale Friday, January 20 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Before that, Legacy members of Madonna’s Official Fan Club can purchase tickets beginning Tuesday, Jan. 17 at noon while Citi cardmembers can purchase tickets the same day starting at 2 pm.
