The city’s only rooftop pool with public access will soon be back open for the summer. Soak in the sun, snack on food, and sip on drinks above Back Bay, at the Colonnade Hotel’s RTP, which opens for the season Memorial Day weekend.

Sitting 12 floors above Huntington Ave, the pool is open to the public Monday through Wednesday for a $60 entry fee and open for hotel guests seven days a week on a first-come, first-serve basis.

From May 27 through Labor Day, you can enjoy chaise lounges and free sunscreen dispensers, with private cabanas and more amenities available for rent, according to a press release.

This year marks the 50th year of The Colonnade, and brings with it a multi-million dollar renovation that redesigned the lobby, created a new onsite restaurant, and refreshed rooms. The RTP now boasts new cabana seating.

Beyond just swimming and sunbathing, there is also a weekly yoga class Wednesday mornings starting at 8 a.m. at the RTP.

The food and drink menu — from The Colonnade’s Director of Food and Beverage, Nicholas Calias — features “creative spins on summer staples,” according to a press release.

The a la carte menu includes burrata with grilled peaches, aged balsamic, and basil; grilled fish tacos; tuna poke bowl; and a lobster roll.

For drinks, the RTP serves a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails, including a variety of frozen drinks perfect for hot summer days.

According to the RTP website, there are still a number of COVID protocols in place: pool capacity has been reduced, sanitation stations are around the pool deck, fresh terry cloth covers for chaise lounges, and more.
