Tour Gilded Age mansions dressed for the holidays at Newport Mansions

Explore sparkling lights inside and out and take festive holiday photos before a 15-foot poinsettia tree.

The Newport Mansions Christmas
Christmas at The Breakers in Newport, R.I. The Preservation Society of Newport County

Lights are sparkling for the holidays at the Newport Mansions as 28 decorated trees shine in various places throughout The Breakers, The Elms, and Marble House during “Dressed for the Holidays.” The Great Hall at The Breakers has a 15-foot poinsettia tree made up of 150 plants, providing a festive background for holiday photos. The fireplace mantels, staircases, and tabletops are filled with floral arrangements, evergreens, wreaths, and poinsettias to celebrate the holidays in the mansions. At the Breakers, guests can also explore “Sparkling Lights,” an outside winter wonderland, while listening to holiday music and strolling through the Peppermint Woods, Snow People Corner, Gnome Knoll, and Tunnel of Light. Tucked away on the back lawn of Marble House, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, sits The Chinese Tea House where guests can enjoy a three-course holiday brunch curated by Stoneacre Brasserie.
