Every Thursday evening this summer through Sept. 29, the Boston Common Frog Pond hosts free yoga classes for folks of all abilities. The classes run from 6 to 7 p.m., and a full lineup of instructors can be found here.
Yoga, which originated in ancient India as a form of physical, mental, and spiritual practices, is now a common physical fitness practice in the west, consisting of a series of postures often strung together in a sequence, and ending in mediation. The Boston Common’s free yoga series helps participants of all levels expand their practice, release stress, and tap into the beauty of nature beside the Frog Pond.
Participants must bring their own yoga mats, and the classes take place on the lawn adjacent to the Frog Pond carousel.
This yoga series is part of the Boston Parks and Recreation Department and the Boston Public Health Commission’s annual Boston Parks Summer Fitness Series, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. To register for a free class, visit the Eventbrite listing.
