Get festive at Light Up Seaport

The tree lighting will be followed by a holiday stroll.

A previous Light Up Seaport. Seaport

Start the holiday season with one big night of bright at the fifth annual tree lighting, Light Up Seaport.

This year’s free event invites everyone to enjoy holiday cheer on Friday, Dec. 3 from 5 to 9 p.m., beginning with performances by local musicians The Boston Children’s Chorus, Notebook P, and Lisa Bello. With the sounds of the season as a festive backdrop, start crossing things off your gift list during the Seaport’s annual holiday stroll. Sip, shop, and stroll the 40-plus Seaport retailers, each offering their own one-night-only promotions. The neighborhood’s centerpiece, a 54-foot Norway spruce, is dressed up in 10,000 white lights all ready to kick off the season with the main event — a tree lighting ceremony at 7:15 p.m. Another bright star of the night — don’t miss the celeb appearance on the Seaport Courtyard by Betty the Yeti (fresh faced from her summer vacation in the Himalayas).
