Before things get busy with the holiday season, here’s a chance to relax over a leisurely weekend meal while also giving back to the community: Vialé in Central Square is hosting a benefit brunch on Saturday, Nov. 20, with all proceeds going to Cambridge non-profit, Food For Free. The neighborhood non-profit improves access to healthy food in Cambridge by rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste and creating new distribution channels to under-served populations. Vialé is a neighborhood favorite for farm-to-table Italian fare like pastas, pizzas, and rustic brunch dishes like smoked pork hash with Brussels, poached eggs, and hollandaise. For seven years, the restaurant has honored Food For Free with this annual fundraiser, and chef-owner Greg Reeves will take his support a step further this year by creating two recipes to include with Food For Free’s Just Eats Grocery Boxes in November. Chef Reeves and team are offering a $35 prix-fixe menu during the benefit brunch from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., with all proceeds going to Food For Free. Call the restaurant at 617-576-1900 to reserve a table.
