Imagine boarding your flight to discover a handwritten message from your loved one attached to your seat.

Cue the waterworks.

It’s all part of a campaign called “Cover Greetings,’’ launched by the airline KLM at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. Here’s how it all went down.

After bidding your loved one goodbye at the security line, unbeknownst to you, a KLM employee whisks him or her off to write a message to you. Once that heartfelt message, maybe even accompanied by a colorful little drawing, is complete, another KLM employee rushes that message onto your plane, finds your seat number, and sticks it to your headrest cover. When you board your flight and find your seat, voila!

How would you react if this happened to you? A woman who found herself part of the campaign was moved to tears.

“Oh. God. Okay. I promised myself not to cry anymore,’’ she said.

Judging by all the positive comments toward KLM on the YouTube video, which has already been viewed more than 200,000 times, we’d venture to say the campaign was a success.
