With 559 miles of coastline, including the 40-mile Cape Cod National Seashore, Cape Cod is full of this-is-the-life beaches. That’s both an amazing and difficult thing when it comes to choosing the best spot to plant your umbrella this summer. If you’re looking for help, Cape Cod Magazine released a list of the 20 best beaches on the Cape last week.
The list, which includes beaches from Sandwich to Provincetown, is made up of “personal favorites” of the magazine’s editors.
“Whatever vibe you crave, you’re bound to find it at one of these sublime sandy spots,” the editors wrote.
The best beach on the Cape, according to the publication, is Ballston Beach in Truro.
“Like its Wellfleet counterparts, Ballston boasts cliffs and waves, though slightly smaller in size,” Cape Cod‘s editors wrote. “Not only do Ballston’s sands stretch out endlessly in either direction along the Cape Cod National Seashore, but sandbars are aplenty at low tide. Picturesque tranquility.”
The editors also added to the list two island beaches — one on Martha’s Vineyard and one on Nantucket — and an honorable mention beach in Bourne.
