Have you been itching to explore Iceland or Colombia?

If so, you’ll want to book your airfare on Tuesday, according to Liana Corwin, the consumer travel expert for the flight tracker app Hopper. That’s when you’ll find discounted flights to these destinations out of Logan International Airport.

In fact, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving is a great day to shop for all airfare, said Corwin, which is why it has become known as Travel Deal Tuesday.

The company, which has locations in Cambridge, Montreal, New York, and Sofia, Bulgaria, and helps folks plan more than 150,000 trips a day, sent 1.1 million deal notifications on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving last year, which was 43 percent more than usual, Corwin said. On that day, 20 percent of the domestic and international routes the company tracks went on sale, she said. When the company, which launched its app in 2014 and sold its first flight in 2015, looked at the data before that, it found that fare sale activity on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving doubled in 2016 and jumped six times its usual volume in 2015, she said.

“It’s very likely that they’ve been piggybacking on this consumer shopping trend in the U.S.,” Corwin said about why airlines offer deals after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. “People are in the mindset to make purchases during that time.”

This year, shoppers can expect to save up to 40 percent off the following “bucket list” destinations, according to Hopper: Paris, Hong Kong, Sydney, Miami, Rio de Janeiro, and Los Angeles. Hopper predicts the savings will climb even higher than that for spots like San Juan Puerto Rico (51 percent savings), Madrid, Spain (47 percent savings), and Havana, Cuba (46 percent savings).

At Logan, Cathay Pacific will discount flights from Boston to Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, New Zealand, and Australia; Avianca will discount a nonstop flight to Bogotá, Colombia; and Icelandair will discount a flight to Iceland, Corwin said.

“They haven’t given us prices in advance,” said Corwin. “They just have confirmed that these routes will be on sale for Travel Deal Tuesday.”

Corwin said whether you use Hopper or another flight tracking method, it’s best to shop early on Tuesday.

“Fare sales tend to start early and, on a day like Travel Deal Tuesday, they will sell out pretty quickly,” she said.
