Bar Harbor Ghost Tours in Bar Harbor, Maine, ranked No. 8 on that list. It was the only New England spot that made the cut. The No. 1 ghost tour in America is NOLA Ghost Riders in New Orleans, according to USA Today readers.

And, finally, if you’d rather tackle an escape room this season, USA Today readers chose Boxaroo in Boston as one of the best escape rooms in the country. The escape room, which ranked No. 3, was the only New England spot on the list. The No. 1 escape room in America is Enchambered in Sacramento, according to USA Today readers.

“Players at Boxaroo in Boston have two escape scenarios to choose from,” wrote USA Today. “Investigate a museum gone amiss to rescue lost art in the Conundrum Museum, or examine the study of a legendary magician to uncover the secrets of his magic before time runs out.”
