American Airlines will add nonstop service from Boston to London in 2020
The service begins in March.
Bostonians flying across the pond have another option starting in 2020.
American Airlines will begin a nonstop service from Logan Airport to London Heathrow Airport on March 29, 2020, the airline announced Monday.
Passengers will fly on a 777-200 to London, and can choose between the airline’s 37 flagship business seats and 24 premium economy seats. The new daily flight will depart from Boston at 7:15 p.m. and arrive in London at 7:30 a.m. the following day.
“American Airlines continues to be a great partner,” said Lisa Wieland, Massport CEO, in a press release. “Their new service to Heathrow will offer our passengers a new convenient flight with direct access to key European destinations.”
Tickets for the route are available for purchase beginning Oct. 7.
American Airlines, Logan’s third-largest operator, serves more than 6 million passengers per year at Logan, according to Massport. The airline, which flies out of Terminal B at Logan, collaborated with Massport this year on improvements to the terminal, including a Great Hall that was unveiled in June.
