If you didn’t get a chance to explore Spectacle and Georges Islands this year, this weekend is your last chance and you can save money to boot.

Spectacle and Georges Islands are open to the public from mid-May through Columbus Day and visitors can make the most of their final weekend with free ferry service to both islands on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the Boston Harbor Islands National & State Park.

“You can walk the sandy beaches and scenic trails of Spectacle Island or explore historic Fort Warren on Georges Island all for free,” according to the park’s Facebook page.

Those interested can catch the ferry to either island from Long Wharf North. Visitors won’t be able to reserve the ferry in advance, as tickets will only become available starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday at the Boston Harbor Cruises Ferry Center at Long Wharf North. Tickets are first-come, first-served.
