We asked Boston.com readers to share heir favorite New England leaf peeping spot, and dozens of readers responded with locations that ranged from the Boston Common to New Hampshire’s White Mountains to, well, the entire state of Vermont (14 readers answered simply “Vermont”).

Some readers, on the other hand, chose to keep mum: “Not giving away secrets,” Cindy Pinder wrote on Facebook.

Ahead, discover the foliage spots most beloved by our readers. If multiple people shared the same answer, we noted it in parenthesis after the destination.

But for some, there’s no need to go anywhere.

Adrienne Richard Korn’s best viewing spot? “My back yard.”
