You can save half off your fare on a November getaway by train this fall season, but you have to act quickly.

During Amtrak’s two-day “Fall Getaway Flash Sale,” taking place Oct. 22 and 23, travelers can save 50 percent off train fare for travel between Nov. 11 and Nov. 29, with blackout dates on Nov. 26 and 27.

For example, Bostonians can snag one-way Northeast Regional fare to New Haven, Conn., for $29 and to Philadelphia and New York for $39. On the high-speed Acela, Bostonians can get to New Haven for $60, New York for $65, and Philadelphia for $89, but only on business class and coach seats.

The sale applies to all routes except the following: Auto Train, Pennsylvanian and Keystone Service (locally between Philadelphia and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania), Capitol Corridor, Hiawatha, and Pacific Surfliner and 7000-8999 Thruways.
