Boston travelers can no longer rent Audis from Silvercar by Audi at Logan International Airport as of next month.

The Austin, Texas-based rental car company, which has 34 locations nationwide, will close all 14 of its airport locations by Dec. 6 due to a “shift in strategy” from airport travelers to local renters. Boston-area customers will have access to a new location at Audi Peabody, according to the company.

The company was founded in 2012 with the goal of eliminating “the frustrations and points of friction that have plagued its industry for decades,” according its Facebook page.

Customers who rent from Silvercar by Audi use the mobile app to sign up, book, and unlock the rental cars, bypassing counter visits, lines, and paperwork, according to the company. There’s also a curbside pick-up option.

“All Silvercar by Audi airport locations, including Logan, will close by December 6, as the company makes a shift in strategy from airport travelers to local renters,” wrote a company spokesperson in an email statement sent to Boston.com. “Silvercar by Audi will rapidly expand its network of in-town locations at Audi dealerships, which includes a new location at Audi Peabody serving Boston-area customers. Looking ahead, Silvercar by Audi will continue to aggressively expand its vehicle on-demand network across the U.S.”

Silvercar by Audi added the Boston location at Logan International Airport in 2019.
