An iconic luxury hotel on historic Boston Harbor was just named among the best hotels in North America, in part, for its “heartfelt connections to local culture.”

Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest independent hotel brand which represents more than 750 hotels, resorts, and residences across 85 countries, recently named Boston Harbor Hotel among the top 10 hotels in North America as part of its 2020 I Prefer Members’ Choice Awards. The awards, voted by members of its I Prefer hotel rewards program, recognized 38 hotels, resorts, and residences across four global regions for their “unwavering dedication to providing exemplary service and high-quality standards.”

At the foundation of I Prefer is a pledge to offer unparalleled levels of consistent, flexible, and rewarding hospitality,” said Jeri Salazar, vice president of loyalty for Preferred Hotels & Resorts, in a statement. “Through these annual awards, we are proud to recognize what our I Prefer members find to be the most valued aspects of a hotel stay — genuine recognition, sincere personalization, and heartfelt connections to local culture — which is something that our portfolio of independent hotels is uniquely positioned to provide.”

Boston Harbor Hotel, a Forbes five-star and AAA Five Diamond hotel, posted the following reaction on its Facebook page: “Selected as best of the best out of 700+ luxury independent hotels around the world, we are beyond honored by this recognition and want to thank our entire team, our guests, and loyal I Prefer Members for helping us attain this significant achievement — we look forward to celebrating with you!”

Woodstock Inn & Resort, a AAA Four Diamond resort in Woodstock, Vermont, was also named among the top 10 hotels in North America.

“On the heels of the resort’s accolades in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards in fall 2020, it is incredible to be distinguished as a top hotel in North America by two notable brands,” said John T. Hallowell, president and managing director of the Woodstock Inn & Resort, in a statement. “Both awards are especially meaningful because they are based on the opinions of our valued guests. These honors are truly a result of our staff’s dedication to delivering outstanding, bespoke services that exceed the expectations of our guests.”
