Four boys are accused of throwing rocks at cars in Worcester, State Police said.

The boys, who were between the ages of 9 and 11, threw about 60 golf ball-sized rocks and 10 softball-sized rocks at vehicles on the ramp entering Interstate 290 eastbound. Twelve vehicles were damaged. The damage included smashed windshields, as well as body damage to the cars.
Worcester police and one of the victims chased down and identified the four boys, and they were interviewed and sent home. Specific charges have not been brought against the offenders because they are juveniles, and those will be determined by the court.
They will be charged in the juvenile division of Worcester District Court at a later date, said Lieutenant Matthew Murray, a State Police spokesman.
