Long loves Charlestown and feeling’s mutual

NFL great Howie Long was honored in Charlestown today as part of “Hometown Hall of Famers,’’ a national program honoring the hometown roots of some of the sport’s greatest players. The former All-Pro defensive end for the Raiders, Long was presented with a plaque by Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston president Josh Kraft. We couldn’t resist asking Long, who grew up in Charlestown, what he thought of Ben Affleck’s gritty heist drama, which is based in the ‘hood. “It’s certainly entertaining,’’ said Long. “I think with any town or city, you can latch onto one thing that puts people in seats in theaters, but there are a lot of really good people here, and I saw quite a few of them today.
