Service on the MBTA Red Line was delayed this afternoon while Cambridge police searched for the suspect of a bank robbery, officials said.
Cambridge police asked MBTA officials to stop service at the Charles MGH and Central Square stops on the Red Line while they searched for the suspect in that area, said Daniel Riviello, spokesman for the Cambridge police.
The robbery occurred at TD Bank at 625 Massachusetts Avenue around 4:25 p.m., when the suspect passed a note to the teller. He did not appear to have a weapon, and made off with $1,000.
The suspect is still at large. He is a white male, about six feet tall, and was wearing a baseball cap, Riviello said. The MBTA is running regularly again.
