A man robbed a bank in Scituate Thursday – in his pajamas.

Police were called to Hingham Federal Credit Union on 9 Brook St. at 3:56 p.m., said Scituate Police Lieutenant Mike Stewart. The suspect handed the teller a note and did not show a weapon. The note indicated the suspect wanted 50- or 100-dollar bills and “no dye packs or you’re dead.’’

The man was wearing blue pajama hospital pants and a white sweatshirt with the words “Cape Cod’’ on the front, Stewart said. He was also wearing a wool ski hat with ear flaps.

By the time officials arrived, the suspect had fled in a tan pickup truck driven by an accomplice.

The incident is under investigation. Stewart added that Scituate Harbor was a strange place for a robbery to occur.

“A lot of these bank robberies take place in locations where you can easily disappear into a crowd, or a large parking area,’’ he said. “Somewhere where you can disappear a lot easier than you can in Scituate Harbor.’’

Anyone with information can contact Stewart at 781-545-1212.
