Dorchester woman charged with stabbing boyfriend

A Dorchester woman is under arrest after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend early this morning while her two children were home, according to police.

Angel Haywood, 26, of Dorchester, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Haywood turned herself in to police, saying she stabbed her boyfriend, Boston Police spokesman Eddy Chrispin said.

Police never located the victim and his condition is unknown, Chrispin said.

According to Chrispin, Haywood said the couple arrived at their apartment at 100 Selden St. at about 3 a.m. They argued, and at about 3:50 a.m., Haywood retrieved two knives from the kitchen and stabbed her boyfriend, whose name is being withheld, Chrispin said.

Haywood told police that before the stabbing, her boyfriend threatened to take Haywood’s daughter, age 6, and son, age 2, and hit her numerous times after she stabbed him, Chrispin said.

Police did a well-being check on the children and found them unharmed with an adult female babysitting them, Chrispin said.

After the stabbing, Haywood jumped out the window and fled, with her boyfriend in pursuit, Chrispin said.

When she turned herself in, Haywood was shaking; crying; and wearing a bloody tank top, bloody shorts, and no shoes, Chrispin said.

Police set up a crime scene at the apartment, recovering the knives and taking photos of blood in the apartment, Chrispin said.
