‘American Horror Story’ references Red Sox

Kudos to Michael Malone at Broadcasting & Cable (www.broadcastingcable.com) for noticing the reference to the Red Sox on FX’s new hit, “American Horror Story.’’ Malone points out that on the most recent episode of the show, which airs Wednesday nights, the character Violet, played by Taissa Farmiga, is looking at her laptop, scrolling through a list of names involved in a high school shooting spree. The last names on the list include: Greenwell, Stapleton, Stanley, Boggs and Gedman — an obvious reference to the 1986 Red Sox. A dark mention of the ’86 players comes as no surprise: the co-creator of “American Horror Story’’ is Brad Falchuk, the Newton native who attended Beaver Country Day School.
