The Wenham and Manchester-by-the-Sea teenagers who ran away together on Sunday were found at an Occupy camp Monday night in Newark, N.J., police said.
Laura Dixon, 14, and Connor Southard, 13, were found around 6 p.m., said Wenham Police Captain Thomas Perkins. They turned themselves in to police after being convinced by a member of the Occupy camp, Perkins said.
The teens were in good health, and are currently in the custody of the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, Perkins said.
“They are safe and sound,’’ he said.
He expects arrangements for their homecoming will be made later today.
Before they were found, the two were last seen at South Station around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. MBTA Transit Police released a video Monday of them entering and leaving the station.
