Governor Deval Patrick will host a fundraiser for President Obama in Washington DC tomorrow, according to Patrick’s political director, Alex Goldstein.
The Governor’s event with the president will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the posh St. Regis hotel. Patrick’s public schedule, released this afternoon, also shows that he plans to meet with Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Patrick, a personal friend of the president’s, has been designated as one of Obama’s high-profile spokesmen for the reelection campaign. In his second term, the governor has traveled frequently for political events, speaking at state Democratic dinners and holding fundraisers for his own political committee. He has said he will not run for a third term and will likely return to the private sector, but will use the money he raises to support his political activities.
