Power restored to part of Orange Line after power outage
The Orange Line should provide full service again by 9:30 a.m., after a service disruption of over an hour between the Forest Hills and Ruggles stations, a spokesman for the MBTA said.
The issue was caused by a power problem, said MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo. Though power was restored at 8:40 a.m., crews need to finish removing a disabled train from the track near Jackson Station and test the power system before service can resume.
Starting shortly before 8 a.m., 60 shuttle buses provided alternate transportation, resulting in 20- to 30-minute delays for commuters, said MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo.
