In addition to appearing on Jay Leno’s show, working with Steven Tyler on a new Aerosmith CD, and lining up a few TV gigs, Joe Perry is tending to important family business while in L.A.: The guitarist’s first granddaughter was born this week. Perry’s son Adrian and his wife Ann welcomed Genevieve Cortina Perry, and Joe and his wife Billie were there to greet her. (Adrian’s mom is Perry’s ex Elyssa.) Perry and Tyler, who seem to be back on good terms, will be on “The Tonight Show’’ Friday, performing with “American Idol’’ judge Randy Jackson. We’re told the trio is planning to do the Aerosmith nugget “Chip Away the Stone.’’ Perry will be back on Leno Jan. 30 playing “Man of Peace,’’ his contribution to “Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan,’’ a new benefit disc for Amnesty International. Tyler isn’t the only one with a TV gig. Word is Perry, who once played a detective on “Homicide,’’ may show up on the Discovery show “Sons of Guns’’ and perhaps the new season of “Sons of Anarchy.’’
