Boston Children’s Hospital top ranked by US News

US News and World Report released its annual rankings of Children’s Hospitals and once again, Boston Children’s Hospital tied for the number one spot along with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Eighty hospitals across the country ranked in at least one of the 10 specialties such as cancer, cardiology, and neurology, and 12 made the honor roll for ranking in at least three specialities.

Full disclosure: I used to work at US News — though not directly on the rankings, which are based on performance data collected from hospital surveys as well as a survey on hospital reputations collected from 1,500 pediatric specialists.


Boston Children’s Hospital ranked either first or second in the nation for cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, and urology.
