Langham, Boston’s $6m renovations include a ‘European-style champagne lounge’

The Langham, Boston, said Wednesday that it is in the final stages of a$6 million-plus renovation to the Franklin Street hotel’s 6,000 square foot lobby.

Planned renovations include a new entrance, a new reception area, and a new “dining enclave’’ to complement the existing architecture. The Langham is housed in Boston’s former Federal Reserve Bank building.

“Spacious and airy, the hotel’s grand lobby will boast an open, contemporary floor plan with stylish reception areas and a European-style champagne lounge aptly named The Reserve,’’ the hotel said in a press release.

Among the food items that will be on offer at the champagne lounge: Frozen key lime soufflé and flourless manjari chocolate cake. And don’t forget Maine lobster salad sliders, croque monsieur, and gazpacho andaluz.

“The Reserve was designed to create a haven for our guests to sip, savor, and socialize, and we developed the menu with that in mind,’’ said executive chef Mark Sapienza. “The light cuisine is the perfect complement to our libations and to the comfortable, relaxing setting of the lounge. In addition to the menu, we are also excited to launch a traditional Tiffin afternoon tea and look forward to introducing timeless British fare and exotic tea blends to the city.’’
